Some of you must have dealt with your insurance companies. You pay your premium for years and the one time you need to make a claim they pull out the red tape ie: $500 deductable and the loss of your 15% no claims discount.
I had my mountain bike stolen last Friday Night, thought it would be easy to get at least part of the cost back. It is going to cost $500 which is the cost of the bike, I had a list of accessories I had on it, she almost sneered and said I would have to provide receipts and said something about the bike's depreciation Huh. Do bikes depreciate?
If anyone has any wisdom to pour out I would be thankful for it.
By the way if you happen to be out and about and see a Jeep Comanche Mountain bike out there let me know I want to kick some a**.
Here is a pic. Mine had smooth gumwall tires, a pair of compact headlights I hand built and Canada flag reflective decals at the rear of the trailing arm.

Kevin all insurance co. are the same sure we'll insure you but don't come looking for a settlement. At one time the deductible's were low, but now They are 500.00 dollars's you can get lower but the premium are higher. they get you no matter what it is what I call and it is the same as our Gov. organized crime.I will keep my eye' open for you.

Sorry to hear about your loss. That sure does suck.  The only time I had to deal with an insurance co. was when my exgf was in an accident with an old Volvo that I had owned at the time.  I had paid $2650.00 for it and a few weeks later it was all smashed up (not her fault) and the insurance co. (Economical) only wanted to give me $1000.00.  I had to fight like hell to get it fixed.  I had to write letters, make phone calls to plead my case and to get a letter from the place that I had purchased it from pointing out it's value.  In the end they fixed it but it was a hassle and I am still bitter when I think about it.

My advice to anyone out there who hasn't done this is GET AN APPRAISAL on your Fiero because without one an insurance company is going to give you way less than you think you deserve.  Just my 2 cents.
