Does anybody know if there are any specialists around that know how to paint a Fiero GT and get it right???  I want all the trim removed, side mouldings, etc and then painted....but most of all, someone who can re-install all the trim properly without it falling off and using the correct clips to do so.....any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks

We were happy with post-collision paint work performed on our VW by Bennett's in Carleton Place a little over a year ago.

Hey dguy,

Thanks for the info.....I've since talked with Dez from "Dez' Paint Shop" in Greely and I plan on trailering my car out there this week if the roads get dry enough to get a quote on some custom paint.  I just want to make sure paint only goes where paint was originaly on the car!!!  I've seen to many paint jobs with mouldings and mirrors etc. painted because of the lack of compitence from the paint shops and I find they just don't look right.....in my opinion, anyway!!!  He's quoted me about $3000.00 over the phone...but I prefer him to see it first before I book it in.  I'll let you know how things go and follow up with pictures in the spring.  thanks again...

Mike

P.S. Are you the one that does the "scratchless" tire installs???  I need tires done as well this spring to complete my project!!!

Dez does good work.  he's done work for me in the past and the boy's next door at Stagra Automotive use him.

Stagra is a great place for aftermarket and custom work by the way.

In the amendment message, When you say you can't speak for Dez' son.....do you mean you have nothing good to say about him, or you just don't know him!  This is important to me so that I can make sure only Dez himself touches the car if his son is incompetent.....between you and me!!!!  Thanks again for your comments.

I'm told he does excellent work, again suggested the guys at stagra auto

Plus, I'd like to add he wasn't just after my wallet and he was always honest with me about costs. if something costs more he always told me in advance.

Being a student both times I got my cars painted he really helped me out which is why I go to him always now for body that i can't or dont want to do. He has actual experience painting for GM and he always beat anyone elses price.

Best place in Ottawa for price and quality is Paintwurx. I worked there all summer last year, its family owned and really old school, by old school I mean they don't even have a website. Its owned by a close family friend of mine, who goes by Rossy. If you want to stop by to get a quote theyre located beside the Mendes Collision Center. They definitely don't take shortcuts and charge a FAIR price! Tell them Jasper sent you and you should be taken care of very well.
