Where in Kingston do you live?  I'm over in Trillium District between Princess and Bath, east of Portsmouth Ave.

You're probably better off this way... with a $2.8k repair estimate, the insurance company is almost guaranteed to write off the car.  I imagine that you'd have quite a battle on your hands to get $1k out of an insurance write-off of mostly unmolested Fiero.  Sad

Unfortunately though, by doing this the dialing ditz escapes from having her premiums increased.   Undecided

Sorry for your loss.  I'm guessing given the $2.8k estimate, that she was moving significantly above parking lot speeds?

Side note to anyone paying attention: given the age of the Fiero, and that the Kelly Blue Book doesn't list values for cars over 20 years old, covering your ass with an appraisal may be of benefit.  At least that way you'd have a fighting chance if an insurance adjuster tried to low-ball you on a write-off.

Hi Lercs,

Sorry to hear this. If you decide to part out let me know as I would be interested in the front bumper parts and the headlight doors. I'm in Kingston as well so shoot me a pm when you get it sorted out.

well apppearntly she lives down the street... and there is always a car parked there... like for the past 5 years we have always had a car parked there..

neways,  we would at least get 2000 from insurance... when you insure as many cars and bikes as my family they tend to take car of you. and seeing as the average fora  fiero on autotrader has been around 2500 im sure they would be able to do something.

also the 2800 dollars of damage was how far the mechanic got untill my dad told him the car was only worth 2000.. then he stopped.. he didnt even put it on a lift yet
