Derek if you are talking about the trim that was hanging off along the bottom of your rear window that couldn't have been it as I removed it to prevent such problems while the car was here. Plan was to put it back on in the spring for you when it is warm enough to be able to work with it without breaking it. Something else must have caused it. If you want let me know when you are going back for it and I will come to Kingston to go along and see if there is any thing I can see or do to help. Dan

It seems to have happened when I accellerated.  I just thought the accelleration was the final straw that caused the weatherstipping to fall into the engine compartment and take out the belt.

The plan is to travel on Saturday, that way, I can do the rest of the runs to finish the tuning.

Is there a different way to run the belts perhaps???

Cheers, Derek

Hi Dan.

My buddy is going to head to Montreal on Saturday to visit his son, so I'll catch a ride with him then.  When I get the car back to Kingston and stored, perhaps you could come down then and we'll take a look at her where it is nice and dry and protected from the elements, instead of out in the cold and rain.  Wink

Sounds good to me, must be one of the brackets on the alt bent or some thing throwing the pulleys out of alignment.
If you get a chance get the guy who owns the red GT that is here now for a drive the gears have been changed in the getrag and it has been strengthened heavily. Combine that with all the mods on this thing and basically hang on tight this thing will plant you in the seat good and hard. Dan

Dan if you are able to find out in any detail what's been done to the tranny without pulling teeth, I'd appreciate it.

I'm still anticipating finding the 3-4 drop on the four speed to be too wide for comfortable track use.  It should be a little less annoying once the 3800 is done, but...  gah.  Any misbehaving in the twisties with the 2.8 means either run it high & hard in 3rd, or below the power band in 4th.   Roll Eyes

The work was done at some tranny place in London Ont. that specializes in modifying trannys. From what I was told the use of a few gears from a quad 4 getrag were used. The owner is going to join our little group so you will be able to get more info once he's on here. Dan
