Junkyard Trip
«
on:

Went out on a date today with Nick.
I picked up a pair of seats for the Fiero.
Just after I put new 4" speakers into the speaker seats, of course.
Nick got parts for an air conditioner.
Not auto related........ and also a new cover for his spare tire. Gray leatherette with a carpeted centre. Looks nice! Oh, some bloody knuckles too.
Pics to follow........

No, I had some Supra buckets. They were in poor shape and looked out of proportion, although they were neat.
These are tractor seats......

Okay, good news is that it fits nicely from side to side. With room to work the e-brake handle.
Bad news is that it's too frickin' tall. The original base bolts to a tube framework that is welded to plates that are covered by the foam and cow. It had a lot of different adjustments, fwd - back, tilt, up &down, yada, yada. To allow a certain amount of tilt, the tube frame is bent like rocking chair rockers. I'll have to see about removing them and welding the Fiero tracks. I may need to notch the floor a bit.

Ummm, given that you are (were?) planning on lopping the top off, how can any seat be "too tall"?

Seats look good so just mod it up.
Let me know if you need some help, I'm good at solving problem.
