Took the long route home yesterday via the 511 and checked out the progress on the track at calabogie.

Well the track surface is fully graded and rolled waiting for the paving crew, the concrete for the pits is done, tire walls and safety barriers are going up.

I'm not going to say it will be ready this fall, they have had lots of issues messing up the schedule but it's getting very close.

The grapvevine has it that the somewhen between then & now, first layer of asphalt is down.

I read on their sight that the whole thing was tied up in the courts until just recently.  A bunch of tree huggers fighting what they can’t win just on principal.  What a drag for the rest of us.  Anyway they said that the track will be open this fall.  They are even booking track times.
