So, why didn't I see anyone there!!!!  There was about 10 Fieros there.  The only guy I knew there was JP with the Montreal Club I guess?  I forgot my camera, so no pictures.. sorry guys.

Also saw 2 fieros outside of the show forsale on the main drag.  Both GT Fastbacks if anyone interested, take a drive around there.. I am sure there were sitting there for a while.

I think we're going to have to take up a collection so that we can get you back on the road.  How 'bout a party at your place to help get that car of yours back together and on the road?

Cheers, Derek

Chis,

I was told that Dan was there for a while and Steph was there untill about 3:00PM. I don't know if Dan had his van or his car but Steph was deffinatly there with his car.

I was working today so I could only take a few hours to go see the guys (without my Fiero).

I also saw "Sock Rocker", he was also there without his Fiero.

There was just nobody that I knew from the original Fiero Crew Tongue  Speaking of which, what ever happen to the starting person of this all, Steve?

The show was great but there was a huge lack of Fiero support from the NCR this year once again.  There was me, myself and I for a while and then Stephane (I think...always bad with names)  came by to show off his beautiful 3800 swap (very good job  Afro).  Its sad to see that our club has lost interest in one of the biggest car shows in canada.  I guess we could say that I was with the Montreal club all day because they were basicly the only ones there!!  They had a great time and really enjoyed coming down as a team to show off their interest in the Fiero.  I haven't been to any meeting this summer (don't even know if there was any or not) simply because the club seems to loose interest every year.  Its sad to see that we had such a great club spirit back when it started and gradually went down hill from there.  I can only hope that things will get better next year.

I guess we could say that I was with the Montreal club all day because they were basicly the only ones there!!  They had a great time and really enjoyed coming down as a team to show off their interest in the Fiero.

I can understand your disappointment, but chill out.  Just because people don't show up for a car show doesn't mean that they don't have an "interest in the Fiero".   Roll Eyes

A good number of the active OFC members have cars which are, for lack of a better term, "works in progress".  Some of those projects are unmoveable except via trailer.  Other people simply have no interest in showing off something which isn't finished yet.  There are also others who would rather spend a weekend afternoon driving than parking and polishing.  Dare I also mention people who would like to put in some "family time" on the weekend?

Simply put, shows aren't the cat's meow for everyone here, and judging peoples' interest in the Fiero based on the (lack of) participation in a car show is both petty and superficial.

I guess you don't check out the Events Section very often then, do you?   Right there at the top of it, is a thread listing all of the dates & locations for this year's get-togethers.  Plus roughly two weeks before each GTG I post a reminder thread.

You do however have to log in to the forum to see the Events section.  If you're reading as a "guest" (i.e. without logging in) the Events section is hidden.  Quite often personal contact information is included in threads in that section; keeping it hidden to people who haven't logged in minimizes the chances of 3rd parties harvesting e-mail address, telephone numbers, and other contact information at will.

Funny, I've been to nearly every GTG this year and even when the one earlier this summer which included a cruise was rained out, there was still a decent turnout.  Interestingly enough, I don't recall ever seeing you or being introduced to you.  Perhaps before judging the club's overall interest based on the turn out at a single car show, you might consider participating in something other than just that one car show yourself.   Huh

I was stating a fact that one year we had a lot of representation of our club at this event and over the years it seemed to have left this event slip by.  It would of been nice to have the monthly meeting be at this show to meet up with the Montreal club. I'm not here to create any trouble either, and as you may know I wasn't aware that I had to login to see the events as this has changed since last year.  I don't know why the general events can't be posted on a calendar everyone can access but nevertheless that would be the decision on the forum administrator to decide.  I would suggest having a look at the Montreal forum website http://www.fieromontreal.com/en/acc/index.html, they have their upcoming events easily accessible from the home page of their forum with general info on the events without the option to posts any info on that events page.  If personal info is a concern, that would be no problem as the events section on the montreal's website doesn’t have any chance of posting any msgs in the description.   I did actually attend all except 1 of last years meetings however since the events section was hidden with guest I was unable to see any events this year.  I believe this forum is a way for everyone to help each other out with their cars and seeing as you are a global moderator, I didn’t seem to have been very motivated in attending any further events from your reply below.  A simple friendly reply with events link and instructions would definetly have improved my motivation in attending further events this club has to offer.  I did infact meet you a few years ago at your house when Dustin and I were looking for a rocker panel off a car you had on the side of your house.

Oh boy, look at what I started!  lol.  I have met JP several times, when I had a fiero.

My other question though was, what happen to Steve?  The original starter of the Club?  And there are a few other people that I used to see active on here, that have up and left?  Eric for one?

I replied in the way I did, because I found your post to be insulting.  Incredibly so.  Perhaps it's the typed-vs-spoken thing which causes misinterpretation all over the place online, however even now when I read what you wrote above I have a hard time not seeing an accusation along the lines of "some club this is, no one can even make it out to a car show".

My other question though was, what happen to Steve?  The original starter of the Club?  And there are a few other people that I used to see active on here, that have up and left?  Eric for one?
