Thanks Kev!

I vote for the "Calabogie Boogie": http://www3.sympatico.ca/elhum/calabogi.htm

Sounds like some awesome roads!  Is there any interest from other club members in some sort of "Fall Colour Cruise"?  We could potentially schedule it for the first or third weekend in October.  (I'm out of town for Thanksgiving...)

I'm willing to reccy the route for "Scenic Picture Area's", Gas/Washroom stops, etc...  Anyone want to come along?

That sounds like fun Tyler.  That area is fun in a school bus, so I bet a Fiero might be even better.  Grin  511 is kinda bouncy in a Freightliner.

Didn't I mention this one a while back?  Haven't done it in the car yet, but there are probably a few places with scrape marks from my bike's footpegs up there.   Wink

Some of the roads to Calabogie, ie near Waba, and Burnstown are terrible!  Unless you want to overwork and ruin your suspension....stay away!  Undecided

For those that don't believe me, check this out (yes the picture is winter but they still haven't repaired or repaved)....

The Calabogie Boogie is for the most part, fine.  I've done it twice so far this year.  Smiley

In the spring you have to be careful on one of the legs which takes you up to the Mountain Chute Generating Station--lots of sand on the road after the run-off.

Other than that though, I have no complaints about that particular route.  One thing I do recommend though is turning around at The Eagle's Rest instead of carrying on to Hwy 41 and back through Renfrew.  Hwy 41 is booooring.   Roll Eyes  My personal preference is to retrace the boogie, but on the return trip turn right on County Rd. 511 for a nice little wind back to Perth.

-d.

P.s.  Brian, the Calabogie Boogie is what I was telling you about when you stopped by on your motorcycle a while back.
