As soon as I fired up the '88, it just did not sound right. Got to Brockville and HAD to fill up. I figured 16.1 MPG. Now I knew something was wrong. I later went to Dan's on the return trip and got the diagnosis. 1 bad ignition module that wasn't delivering spark to two cylinders. Continued on gettting good fuel economy and made it just 5 miles short of the house and she died. A $70 tow bill !@#$%^&&* and she is bedded down. Am going to purchase a BRAND NEW module .

You say it died do you mean it ran out of fuel or that something is wrong with the drive train. Dan

might want to get some of that gas out of the cylinders before you finish parking it.

Or pull the plugs and pour in some oil, turn over the motor a few times then put the plugs back.

Your only limitations are set from within, by a lack of vision.  But to have vision alone leaves the process idle.  Ergo, without action your thoughts are worthless.

Probably electrical, as the unit sputtered for 1 second and died in the middle of the intersection. Lots of fuel Will get a new control module anyway and hope that that is the problem.  Once it is running correctly I will fill it up with 94 octane, change to my winter tires, and put it in a garage for the winter. -----------UPDATE -- Got the module for $338 (ouch) and will put it in tonight ,weather permitting..
