The insulation blankets around the battery area of my car are pretty ratty. Does anyone have a source for new material or replacements? Also the guy that had the car before me did quite a butcher job on the wiring in the engine compartment. I wanted to build a few new harnesses but have not been able to find only the connectors. Places carry pig tails to splice in but not just the connectors and pins. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I've purchased pins in the past from NAPA associate stores.  Helps if you have an old pin with you to match against theirs.

What year is your Fiero?, I might be able to help you out with the wiring harness. Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Is the 86 harness from a 4 cylinder installation?
Thanks,

Kevin,
I will double check my manual tonight when I get home but I think that it should work. How can I hook up with you to get it?

The insulation on the sides is pretty useless and you might toss it.  You can redo the firewall to suit.

The 84 might have some power connections, etc in a slightly different place than the 86.

Thanks for the info. I need to get a look at or get some pictures of the engine compartment of an 84 with 2.5 engine that is in good shape. By the looks of my engine and the wiring the previous owner must have had the engine out for some work and wasn't too careful about how everything went back in. Wires chafing and taped up, etc. I was hoping to get out to see everyone last weekend and check out a few cars but spent all day Saturday with my son at the rink for lacrosse.

The location of the C500 connector is not the only difference in the 84's they also used different connectors to feed the gauges. The C500 is the same connector though and pins can be moved around to match every thing up.
I have a completely stock 84 fiero with the 2.5 still in it if you want I can take a few photos for you just need to know what you need to see. Dan

Hi Dan,
Looking for a couple of good photos of engine compartment, especially location and routing of harness. Trying to find out what else may be missing or not installed properly before running it again.
Thanks,
Garry
