hello.. ok i have had a huge problem with my 84 headlight motor.. (problem) the gears work and it goes up and down no problem.. the problem is when it winds down.. it gets stuck.. and when i turn on the lights the 1 light goes up, but the other i had to open the hood and wind the gear up 1 full turn to engage the system.. and every time in winded down i had to repeat it to get the light up...
So i took it out tore it all apart and put it back together.. with no sucsess

(SOLUTION)   Last summer i was at (i beleive) kevins place for the BBQ.. and speaking with Arron88 and a few other ( im sorry i forgot names)
well anyway one of you told me to just hit the top of the gear with a hammer to fix the problem... Well after all this time of in and out repair on it.. I just broke down and smacked it with a hammer 2 good hits and great, it works again perfectly.. SO to the guy/guys that told me this.. I thank you for saving me $50+ bucks on getting a replacement one that works..LOL..  Afro Afro
i now have a complete set of working headlight motors..  Grin
thanks
joe

Well it wasn't me.  But I would be interested in knowing where you smashed your hammer.  Was it the round gear housing below the motor?  You just smacked the cap?

As the saying goes... if at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer!   Afro

Hey Fiero Joe If u are interested I have 2 pairs (4 headlights) complete sets of 84 headlight motors Id be happy to sell u for spare parts for the future. (One set is fully assembled and the other I use for parts )Im pretty sure the lights and motors work as well. If ur interested gimme a shout and U can come by and see what I got. im sure I can save u alot of money. I was looking to trade them for 87 headlights but I think I was dreaming lol. So now I dont care and just wanna get rid of them cus they r big and taking up space.
