Should be able to do it with any image.  The machines take a specific format thats usually been converted from some sort of image format in my experience.

With the embroidery, you are charged by stitch count.  Doing a full image is using lots (& lots & lots & lots) of stitches. I saw a full picture for the back of a leather jacket done by on of the hot rod guys.  It was beautiful, but cost something like 350.00 just to make up.

I've done this a few times.  If the paper is fresh and you have a good (mine sucks) ink jet printer, you can get fair results.  The image tends to fade and get crackly pretty fast.  The commercial operations use specific ink I suspect as the images are a lot thicker.

Not bad for a small Fiero image with your name on a t-shirt.

You admited in this thhread even that you haven't worn the t-shirt much.  Or is that just one of them?

I did a couple of shirts with the little cartoon GT that used to be in the header of the forum.  One was white, one yellow.  My well water spit up something on the white one and my angle grinder tried to eat me and the brave little tshirt saved me.  They have become work shirts.

I have a button up shirt that I sometimes wear, and another white T with a small club name and logo on the front.

Also made a couple of sets of tags to go on seat belt pads with forum names (not mine) for some guys.  Replaces the ricer logos and just iron on (can be sewn on as well)

I'll admit that the embroidered ones look waaaay better.  I have a long sleeve shirt and a jacket done with the old style.

We have a decent colour printer that should work for doing iron-on's if that's the route people would rather go.

Personnally I would rather go with the embroidered ones... they definitely stand up to the washer and dryer better.

We have a couple of shirts from a motorcycle rally we went to in june that were done with iron-on's and they are already cracking.

I think it's a great idea.  I'm in.

Is it embroidered clothing we want or a patch we can put on a jean jacket and stuff?

Should it be a "Ottawa Fiero Club" logo, or should we see about hooking up with the other clubs in the Province to make it an "Ontario Fiero Club" logo, keeping in mind not all of us are Ottawa folks.  Wink

What about this for a logo idea:

Model an Ontario Fiero Club logo after the Oranage County Chopper logo.  The "O" and the "C" could be front and back tires and the "F" stylized to resemble the top of a Fiero.

Just a couple of FYI's:

1.  I've posted a message on the GT Fiero Forum (the new GTA site) to see if there is any interest in an "Ontario" logo.

2.  I've included a couple of pics of my kewl jacket...THANK YOU GARY!!!   Afro  I wear this jacket all the time, including to work.

Cheers, Derek
