would aftermarket rims be essential for the corvette brake swap? looking for something thats good, but will fit under the stock 15" rim...

I am putting the 12" rotors under my 16" rims and it is a TIGHT fit.......
but doable.
that is with custom brackets and minimum clearance. So commercially available stuff might require a 17" wheel; we'll see what others chime in with.
But you should prob count on it.

Need 16" rims for 12" rotors
Need 17" rims for 13" rotors

You should be okay with an 11.25" rotor under a 15" rim.
