Got vacuum. Want boost.

« on: November 10, 2007, 10:33:56 am »

Hi folks,

A local shop contacted me on Friday, looking for a part for a customer.

They need the bracket which bolts to the front crossmember of the cradle, and supports the lower end of the 2.8's "driveline absorber".  They're dealing with a L67-equipped car and a custom front-side dogbone has been installed which attaches to this bracket.

Thanks!

I have two or three of them laying on the shelf if they are not in too much of a hurry I could mail one to you. Not sure if I would trust it as being strong enough to hold up to an L67 though. Dan

Thanks Dan, I'd appreciate it.   Afro

Personally I wouldn't trust that bracket either, but apparently the owner of the car is adamant to have it replaced.   Undecided

The bracket which is being replaced, is in three or four pieces at the moment.  Looks like stress fractures at the creases of the u-bend.  I haven't seen the install, but it sounds as though one or more mounts had enough give to them to stress the others.
