Will do.  Hadn't thought of it until after reading your note, actually.

Bought 'em originally so we'd be able to talk to each other while on the motorcycles or snowmobiles.  Ha!

Ignition systems on the sleds cause way too much interference, and the current headsets we have pick up too much wind noise to be useful on the bikes.

They'd be ideal for splattin' though.   Grin

Eric and any other participants please note!

I just sent an e-mail off to Paint Storm to confirm, but information I found on their web site suggests that players are not permitted to bring their own paint!

I'm waiting for e-mail confirmation, but at the moment I would strongly suggest NOT rushing off to Wally-World, Crappy Tire, or where ever and stocking up just for this tourney!

As Eric said, they're just past C.P., although just past Innisville would be more accurate.   Wink

Shoot me a P.M. or hit me on ICQ; depending upon where you are Sacha & I might be able to give you a lift.

I've played on their field in Perkins, QC.  Not bad at all.  If the Innisville field is anything like it, there'll be some nicely varied terrain, and only a couple of fields geared toward the paint-waster crowd.

Yup, it's official--no "personal" paint:

Hi Don

It is field paint only.

Thanks

Now I have seen people bring their own paint to field-paint-only facilities, and use it.  Some were subtle about it, some were not.  If you wish to do so, and you get caught, odds are you'll be asked to leave.

From that e-mail message there, I see that they only say it is field paint only, they did not say you could not use your own outside feild paint.  So, if you are looking for a loop hole..print that out Smiley

Eric have you ever played paintball before?   Huh

I have, with groups both large and small.  I have also played twice on Paint Storm's Perkins field, both times with large numbers of people from a company I used to work for.

With the exception of one privately run field, every operator has clearly stated from the onset that you either buy their paint, or go home.  If you don't like it, you don't have to play.

That being said I will freely admit that I have at various times brought my own paint with me, and subtly loaded up my ammo cans with it.  I have done so fully accepting of the fact that I may get caught, and may be asked to leave.  I have seen people get caught.  Depending upon the operator, some of them have received refunds before being given the boot, some have not.

It's a similar deal as to what would happen if you smuggled your own alcohol into a bar.  They catch you, and out you go.  They may or may not decide to refund your cover charge.

You're paying the operator for the privilege of using their land, and their equipment.  The fact that you, I, or someone else feels that the operator is "making more than enough money" doesn't mean jack shit.  If you fail to play by their rules, they don't have to let you play at all.

I think that OPEC is making more than enough money.  Big deal.  I still have to pay the asking price at the pump if I don't want to run dry, don't I?

I also think that under certain conditions & in certain areas that speed limits could be much higher than they currently are.  But guess what?  I violate those limits with the full acceptance that should I get caught, I will be punished.

In the end it's up to the individual.  This is my last message on the subject.  I simply thought that a warning to the uninitiated regarding the place's field/personal paint policy needed to be given.  I've seen many people get all wound up for a tourney, and their day ruined when the operator tells them where to go and how to get there for breaking one or more of the rules.

...and the more targets I have to shoot at, the happier I am.  I don't want my victims to get kicked off the field.   Grin
