Has anyone ever had any success straightening an out-of-round steel wheel?
One of the wheels on our Bug looks like it lost an argument with a pothole, and I'm trying to decide whether to replace it or try to find a competent wheel-whacker...

I did that one night coming home in the middle of the night. The wheel was flattened on both sides but had no sharp bends. Figuring it was done anyhow I stripped the tire off of it heated up the area and used an adjustable wrench to lever it back into shape, I needed to stand on the wrench at one point but I got it done. I didn't notice any difference afterwards but YMMV of course. Kevin
