Title: New toy! Post by: can machine on September 30, 2011, 09:26:56 pm I finally got my Grandfather's lathe. It's a 1939 13" Southbend. It needs a little cleaning up since it has not been used much in the ten years since he passed away. I also need to run some power too it.

If by runners and guides you mean the gibbs and ways and they can be adjusted as long as there is not too much wear in one spot on the ways. The play in the spindle main bearings can also be adjusted out. The bed is seven feet but I think the max you can turn is 56" between centers. Probably more than I'll ever need but it's good to have! |
