I have tried everything to figure out why my drivers headlight aims lower than my passenger.
It is as if it does not come up all the way but when I pull on the harness there is play. It is only off by like a cm but I notice it and thats annoying enough.

The motor opens and closes fine, so I kno its not that. And its not something that can be adjusted with the lens screws. I am almost considering putting shims uner the lower attach screws to the body to see if that props it up the light enough- as long as it doesn;t interfear with the door when closed. But I can't figure out why this headlight seems to be off.

Any Thoughts?

My first thought is that if you can't adjust it using the adjustment screws, there is something in there broken.  when you turn the screw are you certain that the bulb moves?  Pull the entire assembly out and check it for play as well as damage.

Another possibility is that you have a bum bulb, although that is less likely.

I don't know for 84-87, but on my 88, I can adjust the
height of the complete headlight assembly  by loosening the  4 nuts that fixed it  to the subframe.
If the assembly is too low,  the door will also when up.
There is bump stop on the hood to stop the door when down.

Same deal on the pre-88s.

I checked my headlight. Its the motor itself. Not the gears tho they work. I can only open the light when the hood is up but not cus of the gears. The motors strength is gone. does anyone know how to improve the electric motor itself?

If it's the motor you'll have to replace it or have it rewound.  You're sure it's not the gear?  It does slip when it gets powdered.

it could also be the brushes.
