Title: Collapsed Lifter???
Post by: dimeadozen on October 10, 2010, 12:21:37 pm
I was driving my Fiero the other day down the highway and suddenly i guess i noticed a hard core clack clack clack sound coming from one of my cylinders...

I also noticed a slight power loss and my oil pressure drop lower than usual.

I pulled over and turned off my car in a nearby parking lot.

When I started the car it runs fine. but when I accelerate it it makes a loud clack sound.

Its not burning anything out the back and the engine isn't lagging.

If I can't figure it out for cheap then I'm gonna have to taker off the road till next year :(

I was investigating the sound a little bit more and it actually sounds like i might have spun a bearring inside the cam or the crank... I will have to take it in and really get it checked tho.
