I am looking at buying a NEW Jacobs Pro Street ignition system for my 2.8; it will be later transferred to my replacement engine if possible/compatible.
A high energy ignition will ensure that you fully burn all your combustion mixture and this one has (I think) the best write-ups and reliability record. For what it is worth I found another Cdn supplier who also handles MSD and he says "DON"T touch the MSD!!"  too many problems!

I have found a Canadian source that will sell the Jacobs Pro Street Ignition system which consists of the ignition box and their Ultra coil for a fraction of what it is available for in the states.  Somehow.  I am not asking too many questions or he may realize his price is pretty attractive.  The price he quoted me (and I double and triple checked) was $425 Cdn (plus taxes and ship) for the package (2 items).  They are in BC somewhere, so shipping is another $15 or so.

A quick check with Jeg's and Summit in the states shows them selling these two items for a combined $487.98US!!!!!!!!!!!!  PLUSPLUSPLUS....  I talked to this supplier and if we put together almost ANY volume purchase we can get a BIT of a further discount - will help pay for taxes and shipping, anyway.

as a pretty amazing coincidence the guy called me about an hour after i posted that note to see if I was still interested. So I told him what I was doing and he is going to get one in anyway and I will take it anyway and then people can have a look.  He said if I buy a quantity (to be defined....) then he will give a kickback but he wants to see the quantity first. Not too surprising.  It is a good system and a good price anyway.
So he is getting one in next wk and if I get some response from people by end next wk I will give him a number.
It should work well on your car; single coil; external HEI type I think?  That is what I have right now and don't know what the future will bring for a swap subject.....

any chace of getting a price break on that?

I can ask the guy I am dealing with; I have no idea if this particular company deals in MSD or not but will check and let you know; is there a particular model number etc?
Also, better let me know what it includes or does NOT include; they package the Jacobs ignition BOX and COIL together but jacobs and summit and jeg's do NOT so the same might apply to MSD. Give me a bit of a breakdown; ie is it a box and a coil you are after?  Any wires or other items that you would need? ??? ??? ???

right now, Im leaning towards not doing the 3.4 now.. haha, Im looking at another engine/tranny combo, so I cant oder now..

Anyone know where i can get a Berretta GTZ, or Grand Am 5-speed, or Olds Calais 5-speed drop me a line!!!!

Just digital DIS-4 with harness for a 3800sc. :) if he carries them , 3 coil packs. :)

Box, 3 coil packs and a harness.  i'll ask the question when I talk to him next and will let you know.
Do you have prices already?  I have no idea what those things go for.
of course you see all this stuff go for ie, $100 to $200US on ebay, but.................
why exactly are they selling them (used) and what if there is something wrong?
That is something I won't buy used, I think.
