Title: LF: Driver's axle
Post by: FieroBUZZ on April 19, 2009, 12:14:10 pm
Looking for a replacement driver's side (the short one) from a manual transmission car.  Thanks, Gary

I suddenly feel that I am some how responsible for this need for an axle shaft.
I will check to see if I have one if not I know where one is in the wreckers that I can get for you. Dan

The left-side axle was the same for autos and sticks, wasn't it?

We have those two parts cars; can't remember which has what tranny right now, but I know all of the drive shafts are there...

LOL, it may be okay.  The outer boot is badly torn and it's full of gritty stuff.

I know all the manuals are the same and all the autos are the same, but not sure if they interbreed.

No the Fiero auto and manual axles do not interchange, they are different lengths and even different diameters of shafts so a manual outter will not fit on an auto shaft etc... Dan

D'oh!  Learn something every day!   :)

Gary--both our parters are sticks.  One has a torn inner boot on the driver's side but the other appears to be fine.  I can pull it this weekend if you like.
