Title: LF: V6 Driveline Absorber lower bracket Post by: dguy on November 10, 2007, 10:33:56 am Hi folks,
A local shop contacted me on Friday, looking for a part for a customer. They need the bracket which bolts to the front crossmember of the cradle, and supports the lower end of the 2.8's "driveline absorber". They're dealing with a L67-equipped car and a custom front-side dogbone has been installed which attaches to this bracket. Thanks! Not sure if I would trust it as being strong enough to hold up to an L67 though. Dan

Personally I wouldn't trust that bracket either, but apparently the owner of the car is adamant to have it replaced. :-\ The bracket which is being replaced, is in three or four pieces at the moment. Looks like stress fractures at the creases of the u-bend. I haven't seen the install, but it sounds as though one or more mounts had enough give to them to stress the others. |
