Title: Oh Danny Boooy!!!!!!!!! Post by: FieroBUZZ on December 07, 2006, 12:59:24 pm Saw your thread on PFF about a 'build thread'. I don't post there, so I'll answer here.
My opinion only.....yours may vary (it'll be wrong Derek, but I can accept the fact that your wrong and I'm right :-* ) There are a lot of build threads on PFF. It can be better presented on a web page in my mind. Or even done here first. However if you do the thread try this. Pick one simple step and present it in as much detail as you can. Use a separate thread for the next step and so on. In thread 2 you can add a link to thread 1 which kind of keeps everything together. Like "see also this thread on blah blah!" The sheer number of posters there mean that the thread quickly gets bogged down in some petty flame war or so many questions get asked in it that the original points get confused. By doing it all in one thread it becomes a mish-mash of different opinions and ideas about several topics. Also you'll find that the large number of daily postings make it disappear quickly and it has to be bumped up to be found again. This adds a post as well. Lots of members don't read daily and will never see it. By the time you are done you'll have threads on wiring, exhaust, motor clean-up and prep, dinky mounts, fwd bracketry for cheap, getting that smell out of the seats after the test drive, etc. The threads progress from startup, to finishing work with links in each so the reader can go back to another section if desired. :D ;) Title: Re: Oh Danny Boooy!!!!!!!!! If you have a lot of time on your hands and like a good lagh go ahead. Aaron . |
