Most of the tire "sales" that I've looked at on eBay are USA-based & done by people who (nearly exclusively) use FedEx, UPS, and other couriers. UPS in particular has a nasty ol' sliding scale which they use to determine their brokerage fees. :( I imagine that you have to shop very carefully. I also added that they were retail outlets who dealt in mail/internet sales and had excellent reputations AFAIK.
Those dealing e-bay may wish to send their purchase via UPS to the Ogdensburg UPS Store and have them mounted prior to returning to Canada. You are to declare the purchase and pay duty as required at the border ;) It seems pretty easy and no Canada Post employee needs to touch it. |
