Title: Recalls

How can one check to see if a recall has been done for their car, and if so, if it has been actually done (replacement/work performed)?

If there is an outstanding recall on my car ('84), can I bring it in to have the work completed?

Cheers, Derek

I think I read somewhere that all 84 have had the recall done, and if it hasn't you can still have it done anyway.

Take your owner ship into a GM dealer and they will check to see if all the recalls are done. They will do them only if the car is on the road plated. If it is the brake caliper emergency adjuster recal beware if the rotors are bad or the pads are thin they will replace and charge you for it that is how the dealer makes a little money back from doing the recall. dan

Checked with Surgenors (by email) for mine - they said that they can't check any vehicle more than 10 years old, and refered me (politely) to GM Canada. Got a reply from GM Canada saying that there is no outstanding recall action on my car.

As far as I can tell, none of the relevant recalls have been carried out, so I challenged them to tell me when it had been done - their response is that they don't hold that information, and that it would be unreasonable for them to do so for such an old car, and re-iterated that there is no recall action outstanding on it....

I might try them again in a few days and see if I get the same response ;-)

I seem to recall a site that lists all of the recalls for fieros. Didn't keep a record of it thought. I think that there were more than a dozen. Unfoartunately I can only access the web during working hours. Maybe someone else would know or have the free time to investigate.

Hi All

There were four recalls initiated - you can find them at:

     http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recalls/

(just drill down through manufacturer and model, using "all years")
