Title: engine strut (dog bone rubber)
Post by: lacelles on September 01, 2004, 07:14:08 am
Hi

I need a replacement rubber for the engine strut (dog bone) that  connects the top of the engine to the chassis of the car.

Anyone with a spare one to sell or where can I get one at a good price.

BTW, I'm in the Ottawa region

Thanks

$130 ?  Are they ill?  Just for the rubber?  Get a poly kit.

I have the poly bushing from a kit for that dogbone if you want.

Hi Aaron

I'm not a mechanic at all, so you are saying that the poly bushing will replace the rubber, will it do the same thing? if yes what is the price?

Thanks
Stephane

I can’t remember what I paid for them, plus they are missing the center inserts (I used them for my dogbones).  So you can have them cheep.  You may even be able to re-use the old inserts in your dogbone, otherwise it’s off to a metal supply place to find some tubing the right size.  You’ll need something like 5” of it (if you can’t re-use the old ones), it’ll costs like five dollars.  I’ll let you have my poly for let’s say $15.

It's best to pick them up from me in Carleton Place so that I can help you fit them.

Thanks Aaron

I was able to find the rubber one.

But now I need and exhaust manifold (between driver and motor) let me know if you have one.

Thanks very much.
