Title: Need wheel size help? Post by: GSXRBOBBY on June 06, 2004, 08:54:26 pm I have been looking into getting a set of Chip Foose wheels just need help picking the right size after I install the coilovers, what size would fit and look the best?

I love the 5 star look and the little screw type things going around it look kick a$$. Plus I have become a big fan of Chip Foose in the last few months so 18's here I come I guess, what offset?

Ride? Handling? Looks? If you want to corner like you are on rails then yes. But that’s only the feeling of it, my 16” rims with 50 series tires will corner better than your 18” with 30 series tires. Better cornerabliliy with the 1 inch?

Better cornerabliliy with the 1 inch? Not so. A 215 60 R15 is almost exactly the same size as a 225 40 R18 or a 235 50 R16. A 25.2" diameter vs. 25.1" vs. 25.3". Aaron . But I have a few times, you all know you have to try it and push it?!?!?!? well, Bobby if ride is first and foremost as you say then you are going to have a rough one as the sidewall gets shorter. No two ways about it. You are going to have to make a choice on that one. You could compensate (somewhat) for the 35 series by going to softer springs and shocks, but there goes the benefit of handling - increased body roll etc. Title: Re: Need wheel size help?
