If you scroll down you see how a fellow in Calgary decided not to cut holes in his hood and did it differently. It must be a bad day, but I can't understand how the fender vents redirect the air flow. Someone out there can enlighten me?

The vents don’t direct flow, they don’t need to.  This is a high pressure aria due to poor design.  Any ventilation to a lower pressure aria (such as side fender aria) will provide an escape for some of the high pressure gas (air) which will reduce the pressure in the radiator aria.  These vents will work almost as well as a hood vent the same size and better than a hood vent displacing less aria.

Your only limitations are set from within, by a lack of vision.  But to have vision alone leaves the process idle.  Ergo, without action your thoughts are worthless.
