Well, the V8 decided to disagree with my 5 spd. Lots of noise! I need to find another Isuzu.... Anyone out there have a good spare?
thanks,
Sandy

Rebel (Marcel) has an 85 parter with an Isuzu.  I don't know what it's like or what his plans for it are...... Everything I've seen in the local yards are 4 speeds.

Newcastle auto recyclers has an 88 that I removed parts from that still has a 5speed in it. If you can't find one closer let me know and I will check into it further for you. Dan

Union (off Richmond Rd) has a Duke in there yard with tranny still atached, last I saw a week and a half ago.  I didn't check to see the year.  You might want to give them a call, you never know.

Thanks all. I succeeded in finding a good 5spd. Conroy Auto Parts was having a selloff & closing till next summer. Picked up a 5spd Cavalier Isuzu(89) and just switched the shifter arms(4 bolts), clutch arm & my good($$) needle bearing seals. Can't beat the $50 price! AAron88, thanks for your thought... Union wanted $250! Marcel, I would have gone for yours but was really in a rush to put my baby into hibernation.
thanks all,
Sandy

The Isuzu 5 spd is the 4 cyl tranny.  The v-6 uses a Muncie/getrag.  Assuming that you don't do stupid things it will hold up to a 6 or even the honking big v-8 that Sandy has.

If you want to go standard from your auto it's fairly involved.  Ask FieroDough as he did it with his GT.

The parts car that Rebel has should have everything that you need.
