Sorry, between work and staying up late nights experimenting, I've turned into a crazy mad man...hosed the scope pretty good so I'm using an old Heathkit I picked up somewhere to have as a spare, but thats another story...sleep-deprived rambling

I think he was about ready to re-format it with a tire iron when I spoke with him last week.  He & I have been trying to make arrangements for me to get my hands on it and see what's going on, but having a few schedule conflicts it seems.
