This one went to the dump.  Besides the side framerails (gone), the cradle was cracked and rusted and around the strut towers was gone.

If yours is this bad it needs attention.  The rails are under the body and can be replaced by rectangular tubing shaped and welded in.  If they are rusty but still there and reasonably solid, you can patch and POR-15 them.

Under your carpet you will find some small oval rusty things.  These were to seal the holes used to drain the anti rust dipping solution.  The plugs will be bad but the floor is likely good.  I cut out galvanized sheet to fix. Seat tracks may be rusty, usually from leaky sunroof or snow, etc.  Look at the door bottoms, just like a normal car.
